Steelers rookie Kenny Pickett officially listed as QB1

Pittsburgh Steelers first-round draft pick Kenny Pickett has officially been promoted to the team's starting quarterback job.

NFL Insider Ian Rapoport first alluded to the promotion Monday, Tweeting that the Steelers were expected to elevate Pickett to the role.

According to the team's updated depth chart, Pickett is now listed as QB1.

Pickett's first start is now scheduled for Sunday as Pittsburgh (1-3) travels to Buffalo to take on the Bills.

Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. on CBS.

NFL Insider Ian Rapoport reports that the Pittsburgh Steelers are expected to promote rookie, first-round pick Kenny Pickett to the starting quarterback role.

Pickett made his NFL debut Sunday in the second half of the Steelers' 24-20 loss to the New York Jets, taking over after halftime for veteran Mitch Trubisky.

In two quarters of play, Pickett completed 10 of his 13 passes, for 120 yards, and rushed for two touchdowns. He also threw three interceptions.

Pickett became the first QB in NFL history to score two rushing touchdowns in his debut.

Head Coach Mike Tomlin will hold his weekly press conference Tuesday, where a decision on whether or not Pickett will remain under center is expected to be announced/addressed.
