School counselor nabbed for sexual misconduct, giving liquor to student: Police

REDMOND, Wash. (KOMO) — A Redmond High School counselor has been arrested for allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with a student, the Redmond Police Department announced in a news release Friday. The RPD said 35-year-old Derik Detweiler, of Kenmore, was taken into custody without incident in Cody, Wyoming, on Thursday. Detweiler will remain in custody until he is extradited back to Washington. The King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Detweiler with communication with a minor for immoral purposes, sexual misconduct with a minor in the second degree and supplying liquor to a minor. Surveillance footage of gas purchase leads to arson, double homicide arrest

PHOENIX (TND) — A woman who was arrested in connection to an arson and two murders was seen in surveillance footage showing "a very small amount of gas" being purchased at gas station. Katisha Susan Smith, 44 was arrested last week for her involvement in the April 27 arson at a Phoenix building that killed two people. Sheriff's investigators found a deceased person inside J&J Sofa Manufacturing while processing the scene after the fire was extinguished, according to Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office. [Read More]

PSP investigating after shooting leaves one person dead in Lycoming County

State police are investigating after a shooting left one man dead in Lycoming County Saturday evening. According to a press release, the shooting occurred in the parking lot of a TGI Friday's in Williamsport around 6:30 p.m. State police said that, while the circumstances of the shooting are still being investigated at this time, there is one deceased black male as a result of the shooting.
