LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — Pennsylvania State Police said one person has died from a propane explosion at the Bird-in-Hand Family Inn in Leacock Township. The explosion happened around 8:00 a.m. Monday and required a response from more than 20 fire companies. "It was just this tremendous boom. CARTER COUNTY, Tenn. (WCYB) — Five people have been charged with attempted murder after a man suffered a skull fracture during an attack, according to sheriff's officials in Tennessee. All suspects were arrested over the weekend following the incident that occurred in August 2023, said Carter County sheriff's deputies.
The sheriff's office stated that deputies responded to the Stoney Creek community on August 19, 2023. Deputies found a 29-year-old man who was being treated by Carter County EMS for a head injury.

The Pennsylvania Junior Wrestling Junior High State Championships took place right here at the Cambria County War Memorial over the weekend. Hundreds of people showed up to the event.

CRESSON -- Plans to redevelop the former State Correctional Institution's property into a power plant fell through this week after the company that agreed to build it backed out due to the area's economy.
The Cambria County Redevelopment Authority had an agreement with Boston-based Energy Management Inc. to build a gas-fired electric generation plant where SCI Cresson once operated.
According to Redevelopment Authority Chairman Sam Piccioni, county leaders received a letter from Energy Management with the news Thursday night.

ATLANTA (TND) — A private liberal arts college in Atlanta said Sunday that it is reinstating a mask mandate on its campus.
Morris Brown College (MBC) announced on Instagram that it was issuing the mandate following an increase in positive cases of COVID-19 among students in the Atlanta University Center. The center oversees four Atlanta institutions and is "the world's oldest and largest association of historically Black colleges and universities," according to its website.

JAMESTOWN, Pa. -- Federal officials have cited an animal park in western Pennsylvania for failing to monitor a young male lion that was injured by another lion when it arrived at the park.
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service says Pymatuning Deer Park in Jamestown did not contact a veterinarian to re-evaluate the animal after he was limping and appeared to lose control of its body movements.
Owner Rachelle Sankey tells The Herald the park has complied with the order.

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Stan Savran, who spent nearly five decades in sports broadcasting chronicling Pittsburgh’s rise to the “City of Champions,” has died. He was 76.
WTAE-TV, where Savran worked as a sports anchor in the 1980s, announced Savran’s death on Monday. No official cause of death was given but Savran, who was living in Upper St. Clair in the city’s southern suburbs, had been very public about his battle with lung cancer in recent years.
