Blair Co., PA (WJAC) — Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers is offering a $5,000 reward for any new information on the homicide investigation of 16-year-old Nicholas Grassmyer, of Bellwood. Authorities say Grassmyer was a junior at Bellwood-Antis High School, where he played football. On Sept. 9, 1977, investigators Grassmyer played in his school's football game against Tyrone before going to visit his girlfriend. Police say just after midnight, Grassmyer reportedly called his parents to tell them that he was having car trouble and that he was going to walk home. [Read More]

Coroner IDs victims of deadly Easter weekend house fire in Saint Marys

ELK COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Elk County coroner Michelle Muccio-Krise has identified the victims of Saturday's deadly fire at a home in Saint Marys. Officials say Donald and Susan Mahovlich, who were both in their late 60s, reportedly died from smoke inhalation. Emergency officials say crews were dispatched to the blaze, located along Jackson Road, around 8:15 a.m. Saturday. Officials with the Crystal Fire Department said the house was fully involved by the time crews arrived on scene and stated that the roof later began to collapse. [Read More]

NJ man sentenced up to 2 years in jail for assaulting fellow Penn State student

Centre Co., PA (WJAC) — A New Jersey man who was originally charged with raping a fellow student at Penn State has been sentenced in the case. Jacob Tillman appeared in Centre County court on Thursday where he was sentenced to serve 11.5 to 23.5 months in the Centre County Correctional Facility. Tillman was charged last year following an investigation into the alleged assault of a Penn State student inside her dorm room. [Read More]
