SCASD approves multimillion-dollar project for Mount Nittany Middle School

Sears store to close in Nittany Mall
STATE COLLEGE – The Sears store in the Nittany Mall is closing.
The anchor store at the mall on East College Avenue in College Township was among a list of 18 Sears stores and 45 Kmart stores that will close by the end of January 2018, company officials said Thursday.
“Sears Holdings continues its strategic assessment of the productivity of our Kmart and Sears store base and will continue to right-size our store footprint in number and size,” company officials said in a statement.

Cambria County coroner's office gets new safety gear with grant money
The Cambria County Coroner's Office unveiled new gear Wednesday to help keep their staff safe on calls.
Coroner Jeff Lees showcased the five sets of brand-new gear for his office.
The gear cost nearly $10,000 and includes coats, pants, boots and gloves.
Lees says the gear was bought with grant money, meaning there's no cost to taxpayers.
He says his office received the grant for taking time to provide statistical data about deaths to the Department of Health.

DuBois student charged for threatening to shoot fellow student; was found with guns, ammo inside car
Clearfield Co., PA (WJAC) — Authorities in Clearfield County say a DuBois Area High School student is behind bars after he allegedly threatened to shoot a fellow student and was then found with multiple guns and ammunition inside his car while it was parked on school grounds.
