Ridgway woman charged in inmate's fatal overdose

Elk County, PA (WJAC) — Authorities with the Ridgway Borough Police Department say an Elk County woman is facing charges, accused of providing the drugs to an inmate, at the Elk County Jail, who fatally overdosed earlier this year. Police say on January 15th, authorities responded to the jail for a report of an unresponsive female inmate. Authorities say the woman, identified as 31-year-old Stevie Mann, was found in her cell and was later pronounced dead by the Elk County Coroner's Office. [Read More]

Bushy Run Battlefield hosting reenactments for 260th anniversary of the 2-day battle

Westmoreland County, PA — Central Pennsylvania has factored prominently in several wars that were fought on American soil. Situated between the French and Indian War and the Revolutionary War was a small, two-day battle located near present day Harrison City in Westmoreland County. The site of that fight is known as the Bushy Run Battlefield. Bushy Run Battlefield will be hosting large scale reenactments on August 5th and 6th, which is the 260th anniversary of the battle. Great white shark revisits the Carolinas

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WPDE) — A 12-foot Great White shark returned to The Carolinas last week. "Freya" the shark was off the coast of Myrtle Beach on Wednesday, according to OCEARCH. However, they noted the shark's latest ping was a "Z-ping." This type of ping means the tag that is attached to the shark's dorsal fin was not above water long enough to get an exact location, according to Dr. Robert Hueter, OCEARCH Chief Scientist. Johnstown man says he 'saw red;' caused brain, spinal injuries to infant child

Johnstown, PA (WJAC) — Authorities with the Upper Yoder Township Police Department say a Johnstown area man is behind bars after he was accused of abusing his 4-month-old child, leading to severe brain and spinal injuries to the infant. According to the affidavit, police say officers were contacted to investigate the alleged abuse in November after the infant was taken to UPMC Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh. MLB extends draft league through 2030; State College Spikes 'excited' for future
