DuBOIS -- Police are calling a drug sweep that took place early Thursday morning "Operation Ice Storm."
Police and the district attorney said they want drug dealers off the street.
"We like to do it typically in the morning when probably these birds are home in bed and asleep so we have a high probability of obtaining custody of them," Clearfield County District Attorney Bill Shaw said.
Warrants were released for 33 people and 27 of them were charged Thursday morning. Six were charged previously.
Operation Ice Storm focused on the manufacturing and distribution of meth, and undercover officers were able to seize a large amount.
"Approximately one pound of meth worth $91,000 on the street, $8,500 worth of heroin and $27,000 roughly in cash was taken off the street or from the drug dealers. We seized seven weapons and seized one vehicle," DuBois City Police Chief Ronald LaRotonda said.
Police said two of the people charged were high-level dealers who distributed large amounts of meth throughout Clearfield.
Fifteen men and 12 women from DuBois, Brookville, Falls Creek, Sykesville and Curwensville were among those arrested.
Authorities said this investigation has just began.
"I'll tell the drug dealers in the community to listen to what I'm going to say; this investigation is ongoing, you are absolutely not safe dealing, doing, selling drugs in Clearfield County," Shaw said.
Police said they are still searching for seven of the 27 people who were charged today.
