New 'DuBois Days' event scheduled to replace annual Community Days

Local DuBois organizations and business owners are still working on a new community event scheduled for mid-June that would replace the annual Community Days, which was cancelled last month.

Community Days normally draws crowds of thousands of people to downtown DuBois.

After the fire department announced that it was unable to put the event on this year, local residents decided to come together to hold an event in its place, calling it ‘DuBois Days 2024.’

Mayor Pat Reasinger says that the city is going to do all it can, even though it is no longer run by a city entity.

“We’re going to help, we’re going to set out the electric, the police will be there making sure everything is okay, we’ll set out the garbage cans and things like that, we’ll have the city crew clean up the next day or something like that. I’m not sure exactly what all we’re allowed to do.”

As of now, the DuBois Days community event is scheduled to take place June 14th and 15th.
