A member of the Geeseytown Volunteer Fire Company is facing multiple felonies after repeatedly having sexual contact with an underage female, state police said.
According to a criminal complaint, on May 16, another member of the fire company and his wife, along with a juvenile female, came forward to state police to report concerning behavior between a male member of their fire company and the underage girl.
State police said they identified Paul Detwiler Sr., 55, as the fire company member.
The criminal complaint stated that the girl’s mother became aware of messages exchanged between Detwiler and the girl after going through the girl's phone.
According to state police, Detwiler sent her multiple sexual messages.
The criminal complaint stated that Detwiler blocked the girl on Facebook after he became aware that the messages had been discovered.
State police said the girl denied any type of sexual contact between her and Detwiler.
State police also say they obtained search warrants for the Facebook records of Detwiler and the girl, discovering sexual messages exchanged between the two.
Online court dockets show Detwiler faces one felony charge of one felony charge of criminal solicitation/sexual assault by a volunteer or employee of a nonprofit, one felony charge of criminal attempt by unlawful contact with a minor and one felony charge of criminal attempt or corruption of minors where the defendant is over 18.
Court dockets also show Detwiler has a preliminary hearing scheduled for July 11.
