Family hosting first ever darts tournament in honor of local bar owner & his son

If you need weekend plans, a Centre County staple is hosting a dart tournament in honor of two Penns Valley natives.

The "Musser Memorial Dart Tournament" is set for this Saturday at the Frosty Hook Hotel in Spring Mills.

Bob Musser and his son, Bobby, both passed away in August.

Bob was the longtime owner of the popular bar and restaurant.

The first-ever dart tournament is benefiting Penns Valley Area High School student athletes, as two scholarships will be awarded to a senior volleyball and baseball player.

"As we got older, we all saw how much my pap did for the athletics up there. It's just something I want to continue in his name and little Bobby's name because they were both big parts of the athletics, and the community in general,” said Bradley Musser, Bob’s grandson and Bobby’s nephew.

Wednesday is the deadline for dart teams to sign up in advance.

The tournament is scheduled to begin Saturday morning at 9.
